Tasting notes
Fresh raspberry seed, cherry and sage on the initial nose, as the wine opens up this gives way to pencil shavings and amaro spice.
The palate has a slight saline minerality, with savoury characters like black tea. There is red currant and plum skins in the fruit spectrum. This is a delicate, sleek and high tone expression of Pinot Noir with great structure and a long finish.

Terroir
The fruit for the 2024 Pinot Noir is sourced from a single site in maritime, cool climate Mount Gambier. The soil profile is dominated by metamorphosed limestone. Vines planted in 2001. The vineyard is organically managed by viticulturists Mary and Guy Stratford.

Winemakers notes
2024 was an ideal vintage in Mount Gambier, mild, dry weather during most of the growing season, punctuated by a few hotter days to allow for perfect ripeness and expression of fruit. Grapes hand picked on the 1st of March. Clone: MV6. 10% whole-bunch and lightly plunged morning and night. Pressed and aged in French puncheons and barriques on gross lees for 9 months. 30% new oak (Taransaud MT FG). Bottled in December 2024.
